Taylor is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area. He grew up speaking Spanish and at 13 years old began studying Italian. He spent his junior year abroad in Bologna, Italy and received his B.A. from UC Davis in Economics and Italian. More recently he has worked at the Consulate General of Italy in San Francisco and at UC San Diego at the International Faculty and Scholars Office. He now splits his time between California and Rome where his self-made Italian lifestyle continues to ignite his creativity.
Quick-witted and creative at heart, Taylor started writing children's books as a way to make sense of the world for himself and for others. His writing is influenced by his own experiences, his humor, and his travels.
Taylor's writing takes a thoughtful and light-hearted approach to connect with children and every grown-up's inner child.
He is currently working on three children's books as well as collaborating on a suspense/thriller short story for a screenplay.
Taylor was classically trained in piano as a child and still enjoys playing some of his favorite pieces by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Grieg, and Schubert. He also loves hand-making pasta and can never turn down the opportunity to make pizza in a wood-burning oven. Outside of the kitchen Taylor is an avid plant daddy and enjoys cultivating tropical plants, especially orchids, corpse flowers, and other exotic species. If he can't go to a jungle he'll just grow one at home. When he's not tending to his plants he's likely traveling internationally and seeing the world.
